Hello Friends,
California Hands & Voices is supporting you and your child on your journey!
This month on #TogetherThursday, we are wrapping up our Back to School Series!
For our last week, lets take a look at whats available virtually, even if and when your child is in person, there’s a lot that’s up in the air right now: Hybrid, coming home with a scary letter that they should stay home for a few days, going back online for some time.
Here are some ways to support at home with virtual learning:
- From the National Deaf Center (NDC) on Postsecondary Outcomes, “Online Learning, Benefits and Barriers”
- From Resource Materials and Technology Center for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, “Virtual Education for Students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing”
- From NDC, “Remember Accessibility in the Rush to Online Instruction: Ten Tips for Educators”
- From Hearing Like Me, “Making Online Learning accessible for Deaf Students”
- Zoom captioning
- Microsoft Teams captioning
- Google Meet Captions
Stay strong, stay safe.
Together, We Can,
Ms. Leslie
