SUMMARY:Scarlett’s Park Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Scarlett’s Park Conference wants to warmly invite you for the 8th Annual Scarlett’s Park Conference\, taking place virtually on Saturday\, September 26\, 2026. \nThis year’s conference\, “Congenital Cytomegalovirus (cCMV) and the Developing Deaf & Hard of Hearing Child\,” will explore one of the leading causes of non-genetic hearing loss in children worldwide. Although congenital CMV affects thousands of children and families each year\, awareness and understanding of its long-term impact remain limited across educational\, medical\, and community settings. \nThroughout the day\, presenters and panelists will share perspectives on screening\, early identification\, educational implications\, developmental outcomes\, advocacy\, and lived experience. Together\, we will examine how interdisciplinary collaboration and Deaf-informed\, family-centered practices can strengthen support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children impacted by cCMV. \nThe conference will be held virtually from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST. \nRegistration is free; limited to the first 1000 participants \n0.7 RID CEUs in Professional Studies will be offered\nBEI and Silent Garden CEUs will also be available\nASL interpreting and captioning will be provided\nPartial CEUs will not be awarded \nWe hope you will join us for another meaningful day of learning\, reflection\, and community as we continue cultivating knowledge\, advocacy\, and support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and their families. \nFor more information and to register please visit: bit.ly/ScarlettsPark

SUMMARY:H&V Reads: A Leadership Book Club
DESCRIPTION:H&V Reads: A Leadership Book Club \nDeaf Tips: Twelve lessons from the Deaf world to improve your communication in your personal\, social\, and professional life\nby Dr. Bruno Paul Kahne \nNovember 12\, 2026 @ 1:00 – 2:00 PM Mountain Time\nRegistration opens July 17th \nH&V Facilitators: Laura Gramer (WA H&V)\nDeaf people are often seen as deficient because they can’t hear and frequently can’t talk. But Deaf communication is often faster and more precise than Hearing communication. In this book Deaf people look at the way Hearing people desperately try to connect with one another and share with the reader all the tips and tricks they use to communicate more effectively. As the world moves away from discrimination and narrow-mindedness\, it is time to recognize the real experts in communication\, and to learn from them. \nRegistration opens July 17th\nhttps://handsandvoices.org/registrations/book-club/bookclub-reg-page.html
