Why Become a Member?

Our members include families, DHH adults, professionals, and other organizations who are all working towards ensuring successful outcomes for children who are DHH. We invite you to join today and help us ensure that a non-judgmental voice remains available to families. Take a look at the many benefits of membership.

If needed, you may download our membership form and mail your completed form and check to our business address (at bottom of page).

Become a Member

Thank you for your payment to cover your membership dues for this year, it is appreciated Your transaction has been completed, and a receipt for your membership has been emailed to you. You may also log into your PayPal account to view transaction details. If your family moves to a new mailing address please let us know so we can update your information.

Tax information

Members receive goods and services for the membership dues so they are not considered tax deductible. However, any amount over the identified membership fee should be considered a charitable contribution and should remain a tax-deductible expense. We encourage you to consult your tax attorney or accountant if you have any questions. California Hands & Voices will provide you with a letter thanking you for your donation which will include our 501(c)(3) EIN# to provide to your tax attorney or accountant. Please contact our Treasurer if you have any questions or need a personalized letter.

For example, if a member pays dues of $100 and in return receives Membership worth $25, then only the excess of $75 may be deducted as a charitable contribution. A knowledgeable tax attorney or accountant should be able to further advise regarding the deductibility of fees, dues, or contributions, particularly for the donor’s own tax reporting requirements.

Getting involved

California Hands & Voices is recognized as an authorized chapter by Hands & Voices Headquarters (H&V HQ). Our Chapter is a parent-driven, non-profit, volunteer board. If you are interested in volunteering in any way please contact us today! Volunteer positions range in need and commitment for example: host a get together at a park, support fundraising, serve on a local committee, forward flyers to your local school district for upcoming events etc. There is something for everyone!
