CA Departments & Other Family Support

Below you will find agencies that can provide support to your family.

  • Parent Training and Information Centers (PDF)
    There are seven Parent Training and Information Centers in CA. This color coded map will help you to find out which PTI serves your county.
  • Family Resource Network of CA.(FRC)
    Early Start funds Family Resource Centers (FRCs) to provide parent-to-parent support for families of children birth-3 throughout California. You can go to this site to find a Family Resource Center near you.
  • Family Empowerment Centers (FEC)
    IDEA funded Parent Centers in California that serve families with children ages 3-22. There are 14 FECs in CA. They offer families support, training and education about IEPs and other education-related topics. You can go to that site to find an Family Empowerment Center near you.
  • Deaf Access Program (PDF Map)

  • California Department of Education
    The Department of Education serves our state by innovating and collaborating with educators, schools, parents, and community partners.
  • California Department of Education – Special Education
    Information and resources to serve the unique needs of persons with disabilities so that each person will meet or exceed high standards of achievement in academic and nonacademic skills.
  • Deaf and Hard of Hearing – State Special Schools (CDE)
    Provides technical assistance to and monitoring of local educational agency (LEA) operated programs serving deaf and hard of hearing pupils.     CDBS serves individuals who have hearing and vision problems, with or without additional disabilities.
