💖Welcome from California Hands & Voices

You Belong Here

You may have recently learned that your child is Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, or DeafPlus. Perhaps you’re looking for answers, resources, or simply a community that understands. Whatever brought you here, we’re glad you found us. Learning your child has a hearing difference can bring many emotions and questions. Every family’s journey is unique, and there is no “right” way to feel. Please know this: You are not alone.

Families Supporting Families

California Hands & Voices is a parent-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families of children who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and DeafPlus. We believe no family should navigate this journey alone. Through parent-to-parent support, educational advocacy, family engagement opportunities, Family Camps, and trusted resources, we help families feel informed, connected, and empowered from the time of identification through the transition to adulthood. We meet families where they are with respectful and non-judgmental support, sharing information, encouragement, and lived experiences along the way. This reflects the Hands & Voices philosophy:“What works for your child is what makes the choice right.”

Helping Families Build Their Village

One of the greatest strengths of California Hands & Voices is helping families build their village. We know that no one person or organization has all the answers. That’s why we pride ourselves on connecting families with trusted professionals, organizations, Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults, and other parents who are experts in their own areas of knowledge and lived experience. Together, we help families build a network of support that grows with them over time.

Every family’s village looks different, and we’re here to help you build yours. Our outreach, family support, and advocacy efforts all focus on one goal: empowering families so their Deaf and Hard of Hearing children can thrive.

We’re honored to be part of your journey.
