The ASTra Educational Advocacy Training is a full-day, in-person training designed to bring together parents, professionals, DHH students, and community members who support Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and DeafPlus students.
This intensive training focuses on building knowledge, confidence, and practical tools so that every student is supported in reaching their fullest potential.

- Introduction to Special Education & the ABCs of FAPE and LRE
- Special Considerations for Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- A Question of Eligibility: Birth–3 & Transition to Preschool
- Procedural Safeguards
- Assessment and Evaluation
- IEPs & 504 Plans
- Meeting Planning: Tools and Advocacy Strategies
- Considerations for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Deaf Disabled Students
