NorCal Camp Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Family Camp. Our volunteers are very important to the success of camp. Each year we are inspired and thrilled by the number of passionate people who want to spend their weekend with us!

This Year’s Camp is September 4-6th

Important Notes:

  • Volunteer applications will be accepted until we have filled our needs, followed by interviews.
  • The volunteer training will take place – TBD. Stay tuned for more details.
  • Arrive to camp by 1:00pm Friday and leave around 2:30pm Sunday, after we clean up.

Relevant Experience with Children

Do you work professionally with Deaf and Hard of Hearing children/adults OR are you currently in college studying to work in the field?

CAH&V Mission

California Hands & Voices is dedicated to supporting families with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a respectful and non- judgmental manner regarding language opportunities, communication tools or educational approaches

Agreements

If selected, I agree to follow all of the following Family Camp rules:

  • Arrive to camp by 1:00pm Friday and leave around 2:30pm, after we clean up.
  • Be flexible with group assignments, changing as needed when asked by camp director.
  • Know my group’s head count at all times and campers assigned to my group.
  • Adhere to schedules and planned activities of the camp.
  • Maintain safety, both physically and emotionally, at all times.
  • Exemplify “family friendly” behavior at all times.
  • Use inclusive language at all times regarding language/technology use or not.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all volunteers, families, and staff.
  • Assist in providing an environment where children can be creative, learn new and various activities, and grow as social beings.

CAH&V covers the registration fee for each volunteer.
