Welcome to Family Camp — The Heart of Our Community

Since 2000, California Hands & Voices Family Camp has offered families a meaningful and joyful place to connect, recharge, and grow together. Held in beautiful natural settings across the state, Family Camp is a place where families raising Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) children come together for fun, learning, and lifelong friendships.

Whether you’re a new parent navigating this journey or a seasoned advocate, Family Camp offers something for everyone. You’ll experience campfires, children’s skits, field games, and creative arts & crafts — all designed to strengthen family bonds and create lasting memories. Children are grouped by age and supported by trained, enthusiastic volunteers, many of whom are Deaf and Hard of Hearing themselves, serving as inspiring role models for the next generation.

While the kids enjoy age-appropriate adventures, parents attend workshops focused on family wellness, sibling dynamics, and topics tailored to families raising DHH children. It’s a space for honest conversation, community support, and the kind of learning that stays with you long after camp ends.

Most importantly, Family Camp is a place of belonging. All families are welcome — no matter where you live, how you communicate, or what your child’s educational path looks like. We honor and celebrate the diversity within our community.

We’re deeply grateful to the volunteers, supporters, and families who bring Family Camp to life year after year. Your presence helps create a space where families can feel seen, supported, and inspired.

Join us — for one camp or for both — and discover the joy, connection, and community that makes Family Camp the heart of everything we do.
